Huanglong, which means "Yellow Dragon," is famed for its travertine landscape—a series of thousands of brilliantly colored, tiered limestone pools (known as tufa pools or calcified pools) that cascade down a valley, resembling the golden scales of a giant dragon winding through the forest.
